Answers:

1. (c): Let the cost of chairs be X and table is Y.
Given, 8X = 5Y => Y = 8/3 X
According to the equation,
12X + 5Y = 1520 => 12X + 8/3 * 5X = 1520
By solving, X = 60, Y = 160
Then, 10X + 15Y = 1400.

2. (b): Let shyam' capital be X.
Then, (6500*48)/40X = 13/12
=> X = (6500*48*12) / (40*13) = Rs.7200

3. (c): Speed of downstream = 20+4 = 24 kmph
Distance travelled = 24 * 30/60 = 12 km

4. (b): SI of 20 years = (2000*10*20)/100 = 4000
Principal after 20 years becomes 2000+4000 = 6000
SI on it = 14000 - 6000 = 8000
Then, Time = 100/10 * 8000/6000 = 40/3 years.

5. (a): Relative Speed = 48+42 = 90 kmph = 90* 5/18 = 25 m/sec
Distance travelled = 128 + 122 = 250 m
Time = 250/25 = 10 seconds.

6. (b): % = (70 - 64)/70 * 100 = 60/7

7. (e): Average = (55+48+75+50)/4 = 228/4 = 57.

8. (c): Average = (70+64+45+60+60+73)/6 = 372/6 = 62.
Maximum = 73, Ratio = 73:62.

9. (c): Production of India = 372
Production of Cuba = 350
Difference = 372 - 350 = 22.

10. (b)
