Answers
1. (b) Let sum = x, Interest = (x * 4 * 5)/100 = 20x/100
20x/100 = x - 400 => x = 500.

2. (b) here, sum = A1 {A1/A2}^n
A1 = 8000, A2 = 10000, n = 3.
Applying above formula Sum = 4096.

3. (a) Number of quadrilaterals = n(n-1)(n-2)(n-3)/24 = 11*10*9*8/24 = 330.

4. (d) 3 balls are drawn = 15C3
In order to have all balls in different colors, the ways of selection of balls is: 4C1 * 5C1 * 6C1 = 4 * 5 * 6

P(E) = 4*5*6 / 15C3 = 24/91.

5. (d) 31

6. (c) 21

7. (d) Original amount = (5760*100*100*100)/{(100-25)(100-50)(100-75)} = 61440.

8. (b) amount = (100*100*3000)/{(100-20)(100-25)} = 5000.

9. (b) Let speed of B = x, and A = 2x. Length = Lb and La
Trains are running in the same direction. So relative speed = 2x - x = x.
Now, (La + Lb)/x = 50 ---(i)
Lb/x = 30 ---(ii)
Equation (i)/(ii),
(La + Lb)/Lb = 5/3
Therefore, La : Lb = 2 : 3.

10. (d) Let the distance = x km.

Average speed = 2x / {(x/10+2) + (x/10-2)} = 9.6 km/h.
