Answers

(1) Option 1.
  Let Fredrick’s monthly salary be Y
 % salary left after spending on electronic goods and repair work of furniture = 100 –      (20+10) = 70
  Money left after investment in fixed deposits = Y x 70/100 x 70/100 = Rs 18, 963
  Hence Y = Rs 38,700

(2).Option 5.
Let the price of a trouser be T and a shirt be S.
6T + 5S = Rs 2,340…. (1)
7S  - 3T = Rs 540…….(2)
Solving (1) and (2), we get S = 180
Hence the price of 4 shirts = 4 x 180 = Rs. 720.

(3).Option 2.
Let the population of the village be P.
Midde economic class population = 3/2 x lower economic class population = 3/2 x 6860 =10290
10290 + 6860 = 70 % of P
17150 = 70 % of P
Hence P = 24500

(4).Option 4.
Work done by A and B in an hour = 3/40
Work to be done = 2/5
Let the time required to fill 2/5 th of the tank be x.
1 : x : : 3/40 : 2/5
Hence X = 5 1/3

(5).Option 2.
Perimeter of the rectangle = 86 m.
Let the rectangle’s length and breadth be L and B respectively.
L – B = 5 m
L = 5 + B
2( L + B) = 86
2( B + 5 + B) = 86
B = 19m, L =24
Area of a triangle = ½ x base x height = ½ x 24 x 19 = 228

(6).Option 3.
Go on dividing by 4 to get the next number. So, 200 is wrong.

(7).Option 5.
A x 2 +1, B X 3+1, C X 2+1, D X 3+1 and so on. So, 356 is wrong.

(8).Option 5
All the rest are perfect squares except 80.

(9).Option 3
Each even term of the series is obtained by multiplying the previous term by 2.
2nd term = (1st term x 2) = 6 x 2 =12; 4th term = (3rd term x 2) = 48 x 2 =96; 6th term = (5th term x 2) = 384 x 2 = 768.
Hence 4th term should be 96 instead of 100.

(10).Option  3
All the rest except 279 are multiples of 11.
